How to make a pen

Select a Blank (This is Burr Elm)

Mark the Blank (Top and Bottom)

Cut the Blank to the correct lenghts

Drill the Blanks down the length

Check the Brass tubes fit correctly

Glue the Brass Tubes and leave 24 hours to cure

Square and sand Blanks for mounting on lathe

Blanks now mounted on mandrel ready to start

Initial roughing out completed

First stage on shaping (Some filling to be done)

Filling Done and getting to correct shape

First stage of sanding completed

Central and end spacers removed for finishing

Finish applied this is the last process on lathe

Pen parts loosely attached for final assembly

Finished Pen ready to last a lifetime
